Yes...they were deployed against the Russians and won the first battle. They

The base of the Kriegerdenkmal has survived and the multilingual
inscriptions are legible. 2 interesting facts..people are still leaving
flowers next to it, and I was told that it is on the list of historical
monuments to be restored. Cornel
