No objections to her writing skills ,intentions
and style.
What matters to me are historic facts , easily
 verifiable as survivors still available.

This piece was published as a travelogue with reflections on the writer’s
feelings about trying to learn more about her roots during a journey to
the old world. It was not meant to accurately document history. She
writes about what she learned of the Jewish history of the towns she
visited. Along the way, I suspect someone told her their own version of
the history of Czernowitz and I’d be more concerned if this had made it
into academic journals and history books. But it was published on the web,
without review, in “Nowhere Travel Magazine”. It’s a story about her
roots trip; nothing more. I noted the falsehoods even before recommending
the piece to the list. The writer’s email address was in my initial post
should anyone wish to help correct her understanding of the history of the
region. As far as I am concerned, I believe she wrote beautifully about
the nature of her desire to learn more about her family roots, and about
her reaction upon visiting desecrated synagogues, and homes and villages
once occupied by her father’s family.

Just my opinion.

Bruce
