Hi! Sorry, but I very much disagree. This sort of travel report can be read by many people who are not aware of the true facts and take what they read for gospel. For a start, descendants of Czernowitzers who are not list members could be very upset, others could use it as”evidence” for various reasons etc etc. My advice would be...if not sure,do not write it. What is more, our Christian thinks he knows who her guide was and is sure he would not have given false information...so the comment may have been pure imagination. Cornel.

I am sorry but I do have to react to your reaction to the "Essay on Travelling". Whether every word she wrote is historically correct or not is, in my opinion, absolutely irrelevant. Fist of all she writes what she's been told, even if it is incorrect about Cz., it is neither her destination nor does she describe it as her goal. I found it moving that she tried to find out something she had been forbidden to ask about, something forbidden which awoke her curiosity and has never been repeated in her Catholic upbringing. That's where SHE went and what she found was,as Christian calls it "the lost world" and as her son called " the aftermath of an Atom bomb".
Why does a good Christian look for her Jewish past which her grandfather shed and never wanted to be reminded of go into this?? Can a Jew never really delete this? That was the question I asked myself and maybe you have an answer. I found the "essay", not the right word for it -I think -. I would have called it a trip into my forbidden past.
Hoping you had a nice Purim day, all the best, anny

Maybe not 100% exact but common practice was that any place they entered they rounded up as many Jews they could put their hands on, and shoot them. I know about those from the Justiz Palast, and 839 from Novoselitsa.

Cornel is perfectly right.
New researchers from Ameriko are used
to dramatize history. Make it a thriller.
Situation was bad enough as it was.
No need to overdo .

Sorry ,folks, but the bit about Czernowitz is simply totally wrong!! I
suspect that whoever her "guide" was,was selling her rubbish history. Read
the part I am talking about, and if anybody knows the writer tell her the
true facts!!! Cornel.
