Hardy, all,
The survey consists of a long set of questions that address many aspects -
from general information about the site - including location and pictures,
all the way to its status, surroundings, how to get there, contacts, etc.
The smart phone with its camera and GPS are just elements used by the mobile
application we'll provide to the volunteers/surveyors
to enter/capture the information and transfer it to our database, where it
will become available to all interested.
I'll contact you directly in a separate email. I'm sure your activism and
wealth of information and knowledge (which we keep seeing in this list)
will be very useful and helpful.

Hardy,
I don't quite understand your question. The reasons for the survey are
expressed below in Baruch's email. Participation is completely voluntary;
we hope some list members will choose to participate.

Dear Friends,
I just had a wonderful Skype conversation with Baruch Eylon. He is
leading the committee described in his email below. To those of you
planning a visit to any area within Bukovina or Transnistria, please
contact Baruch and I hope you will volunteer a few minutes of your time to
help out the Jewish Heritage Committee - it's for the benefit of ALL of
US. Let me underscore a few words from his email:
"YOU can help a lot, as you like and whenever you like, for example by
taking
surveys while visiting the heritage area or by bringing this information to
the attention of people that are planning to visit there. All one needs
technically is a phone with GPS and camera. Volunteers for surveying -
please contact us at Bukovina.Heritage.Volunteers_at_gmail.com".
Thank you,
Bruce
