Stephen,
I believe Mariana Hausleitner hasn't got additional details such as the first name of Winter, etc., otherwise she would have metioned it. In any case I'm going to contact Mariana and possibly will come back to you. Was the name of your Czernowitzer ancestors "Winter"?
Warmest wishes and Chag sameach!
Edgar Hauster

Three of the older boys were arrested by the Gestapo. One of them named Winter is supposed to be from Czernowitz, the other two came from Poland. Probably they travelled carrying Chilean documents. Does anyone know the story of these victims, directly or even from narration?

There might be a good opportunity for publication in case someone could provide a scan of a related letter dated before May 8, 1945. These volumes released by the Institute for Contemporary History in Munich/Berlin have a wide distribution. Documents concerning Transnistria, Bukovina and Bessarabia have been published in vol. 7, Soviet Union and annexed territories." [http://www.degruyter.com/view/product/230729?rskey=PbuNfm&result=4]
