In the footsteps of Christian.
A virtual tour.

A rainy day today . It rained all day ,the road is wet.
The sky we see among the firs is gray .
We reach Fundul Moldovei -that is "The bottom
of Moldova." Here is buried Traian Popovici
who saved many Jews from deportation.
I too was one of them.
He was not forgiven this and was dismissed.
He died two years later and we remember him.
Always will. Noble soul.
We climb out of the valley and the sun shows
It's face between patches of dark clouds.
Horse drawn carriages carry hay,
Villages, pastures ,dogs bark.
Sheep, goats ,
Soon we see Radautz , a big town.
Many Jews lived here.
Must have big Jewish cemetery .

Tomorrow.

Dear all,

A great pass road crosses the Carpathians from Vatra Dornei to Rădăuţi (Radautz). On our way down to the flatlands we visited the Christian cemetery of Fundu Moldovei to honor Traian Popvici, the Jewish cemetery of Moldoviţa and two of the famous Moldavian monasteries.

Best wishes from Radautz,
Christian
