My maternal grandmother Rivka Ruhm (Weiner), her son (my uncle) Sami Shmuel
Ruhm, and his wife Yente born Husid were on this convoy of 5570 people. 4000
on foot and the others on horse-drawn carriages hired from the farmers. My
grandmother who was of very poor health perished in Jedinets before crossing
the Dniester, the location of her grave is unknown. My uncle Sami, and his
wife crossed the Dniester. He and his wife Yente perished after after a few
months in Skazinetz.Their graves are also unknown.

Subject: [Cz-L] for israelis in the group - film about novoselitsa's jewry's
tragic treck to transnustria

Members who are in Israel can watch today at 15:54 on channel 10 an
excellent rendering of the sad story of the expulsion of Novoselitsa jews to
Transnistria and their tragic months long treck on foot towards Lipcani ,
Breczani etc. until Jampol, and then back to a camp in Jedinets, and after
several months again finally over the Dnejster/
It is told by one of the few survivors, who movingly describes the horrific
events, while revisiting the various villages and sites 75 years later. Her
name is Elka (Reines) Abramovici, and the film can also be obtained as a DVD
fromYad Vashem (25 NIS). It includes
views of pages from her brother's drawings as a child of the various events
in the gheto and along the treck.

Worth watching (watched it yesterday night). It is also an appropriate
eulogy on Yom Hashoa to our Bukoviner brothers and sisters who went in that
or in similar ways to Transnistria, and did not return
