Thank you Hardy. I asked this Question because among the feeble minded
"Siechen" that were brought to "Cariera de Piatra" was one person whom
people called "Advocat Gross" who was actually raving mad and used to walk
around screaming all the time. Anyway, the "Jandarms" "solved" the problem
of these poor people by gathering them one day, and shooting them leaving
their bodies scattered on a pile of the quarry waste.

Siechenhaus was separate ,near the Alte Shil.
It was once a Hospital.
Siechen was not for dementic people.
Siechen was a stage were old people were
wasting away - kind of Asyl.
I used to go with my uncle who was a doctor
on daily visits there .
To be in the Siechenhaus during Ghetto time
was not a very good place to be.
I remember the stench,
Hardy

A question: From what I have heard there was an "Irrenanstalt" or "Piarne"
as you wrote , but I also heard that there was a "Siechenhaus" - a house of
old dementic people that I met when they were brought to "Caiera de
Piatra" - Stone Quarry deportation site on the Bug river . Were those two
separate institutions, or one?
