The first time I visited Vashkivtsi cemetery and subsequently returned to
clear the site in 2010 this postwar stone in the newer area near the
entrance seemed particularly out of place. I believe it was for a
prominent Ukrainian artist (or his father). However, I attributed the
design to the prevailing local customs of the time. Returning three years
later, it had been replaced.
