Czernowitz had no cockroaches! It had mice and rats.
That is why every household had a cat. And since anyone could have a
cat,
public buildings had to have a superior cat, a lion.
Some year ago I was in Sinaia Romania, at the king's summer palace.
Sitting outside was a man with a lion cub. Greatly astonished I asked:
"Un leu?" (a lion?) the man said "da" (yes)
I asked further: "cum se poate?" (how is it possible) he answered:
"In Romania tot se poate" (In Romania all is possible)

If that was so, during the rule of Ceaucescu, all the more so
during the rule of king Carol.
