I shamefully admit defeat.
I didn’t know it.
Was it in use in Yiddish or German?
I will start using ig it as of today.
Any of you know the application of " Humperdink" ?

"He comes from Buxtehude" meant that the person referred to came from some
faraway hole-in-wall dump!! Cornel.

Hi Hardy,
In Yiddish it would mean; "Er is sich farfurn keyn Boyberik. The phrase
'farforn keyn boyberik' means 'digress, go off on a tangent.‘"
Are you pleased?
As to Bukstehude, I know who he was, but wanted to know why we used the
expression: Er fort keyn Bukstehude oder er kumt fun Bukstehude?
