First of all thank you all, who are joining be on my motorcycle ride to the Balkans, be it with your comments, your encouragements or even tacitly. You make my day, but you'll need even more perseverance, since we are still on the way to Istanbul, our final destination. Different than originally planned, from Odessa I didn't take the ferry to Batumi in Georgia, due to its delayed departure and specially to the unacceptable customs clearence procedures in Ukraine and Georgia (6h + 3h) respectively. Therefore, running on my own - in Odessa repaired - wheels, next stop:

The Municipality of Br&#259;ila is idealizing Br&#259;ila as a "cosmopolitan city", stating that "Turks, Jews, Roma, Lipovan-Russians, Bulgarians, Armenians, Greeks, Hungarians, Germans, Ukrainians, Polish, Albanians and Italians lived 'in good friendship' with the Romanians settled here, each of them having their well-established place in the community, each of them writing in their own way a page in the history of Br&#259;ila." Doesn't that sound very familiar to Jews from Bukovina? Well, as a matter of fact, the cityscape shows many striking parallels between these two cities, but...!?
