They tell a story of WW1 Jewish soldiers:
On the Isonzo front a howitzer was to be positioned on a hill.
Jewish sappers were called in for the job and after several unsuccessful
attempts they gave up.
 A German Junkers unit passing by asked the sappers what the matter was
and were told.
 "You want the gun up there ? Jungs come give a push."
The Germans pushed and in no time the gun was in position.
The Jewish Commander commented:"No big deal - they used force !
( keine Kunst, sie gebrauchten Gewalt"

My great grand uncle Dr Fabian Stern was in the army as doctor.
