Dear Leah,
On the surface things in Czernowitz seem quite good.
There are new restaurants, new shops and more cars.
People are well dressed and life seems to be going on as usual.
There are fewer foreign tourists, but more Ukrainian ones.
yesterday I spent the afternoon with Zoya and eve though
She is upset about the Russian occupation of Ukrainian lands,
She actually asked me to write to our Czernowitz group
And to assure all of us that she personally does not need any financial aid.
Right now I cannot send you her Email address, but I will do so when I return home.
Please remind me if you do not hear from me by the end of this month.
Shavua Tov to all,
Mimi

However, if traveling there, which I hope to do next year, I would certainly need/want a guide and would use Zoya, or other who might be available. Does she have an e-mail address to contact her to enquire about her services? Are there people some of you know, who can (and have) done genealogical searches in the archives to gather documents? I also think the suggestion made by Carlos to post info. about guides on Trip Advisor, or other sites, is a good idea. They need wider exposure than our group site can provide. Perhaps, a link on Miriam Weiner's Routes to Roots site, or Jewish Gen, if these sites will post links for them
