My twopence. Not too nice. I have heard that some Israeli Czernowitzers, who wished to have it easier on their trips to Europe (no special queues at passport controls) have applied for Romanian passport, and what was mainly demanded from them was a birth certificate or equivalent (copy from Cernivtsi municipality records) proving that they were born in Cernauti in the right period (i.e. under Romanian rule). For what this is worth.
