Five List members were so kind as to take the time to respond to my 8/23/15
post "Concentration/work camp(s) in Asia near the Russian border with China
that CZ Jews were sent to in 1943?".

I spoke again yesterday with my 93 year old 2nd cousin, Luis Korner, who was
recently discharged from a hospital in New York City after a nasty fall in
the street on 7/4/15.

Ruth, David, Yosi-Jerry and Berti, you were all correct. The Russians were
not in CZ in 1943. The year was 1941. I stand corrected. Alex, thank you for
the list of all GULAG camps and for indicating that the closest sound to
Tushcan is "Tugaichinski" near the village of Tugach.

The good news is that Mr. Korner, who has an amazing memory, is going to be
interviewed soon by the Leo Baeck Institute (see https://www.lbi.org/)
located in Manhattan. They will come to his home and tape record his oral
history as a Holocaust survivor, then they will transcribe the recording and
post it on their website as part of their Austrian Heritage Collection so
that his legacy will forever live on for everyone to read about.

Thank you all again.
