Czernowitz, the city, is still there, physically not much changed from the
way it looked in 1945 when most of us who were born there left.
Of the old Czernowitzers either none or very few are left.
But something of the old Czernowitz with its Jewish majority population
Survives.
The current inhabitants are aware of the city's past and try to preserve it.
