You do this by living an honorable life. You honor your parents, if
you are young enough to still have parents. If you live near family,
you make a community of your family as they did. And you honor those
who came before you, if they are dead, because they are the reason you
are here.
You try to earn an honest living and you try to be nice to your
neighbors. You live the values that are eternal. Our very existence
is a testament to their will to live.
You speak out against oppression and discrimination, whether or not
they are Jewish, and try not to be the oppressor or the discriminator.
You forgive but never forget, for those who forget the past are
destined to repeat it.
You support your brethren both at home and in Israel. You shout and
march and write and spend to keep Israel safe. I could go on but I
think you get the picture.
But you knew that all along, Hardy. You just wanted to hear me say it.
