Maramures and a Cemetery

Czernowitzers...

One week ago we got from our fellow member Friedrich Ortwein a few photos of
the (dilapidated) Vatra Dornei Synagogue. These photos were just the
appetizer to Friedrich's generously illustrated travel report (in German
language) on his October 2015 journey to (Southern) Bukovina and Maramures:

http://www.ortwein-koeln.de/Reise-Reports/!Galizien/Bukowina2015/a_RO-Bukowina.htm

Friedrich's conclusion: "It was a very good journey, partly spectacular,
sometimes impressive. Too bad, that just a few travelers find their way to
this area. There are so many jewels to be discovered in Maramures and
Bukovina. All you need, is just a spirit of adventure, willingness to some
compromises when it comes to the usual comforts, a bit of imagination and
improvisation, a stable spinal column and - a small purse. [...] Drum bun!
Next year in Romania!"

Thank you so much, dear Friedrich, for sharing!
