Excuse a bit of Nostalgia. When we returned from Transnistria we found ourselves in a new (old) regime - the regime of the the Soviet Socialistic Russia. It was the spring of year 1944. The WW2 was still going on. Among others all the Cinemas started showing Russian films. One of the most popular films was "Dwa Baitza"- "two fighters" with the leading song "tyomnoye noch" - "dark night" sung by the then famous (Jewish) singer - Barness

By the way, the annihilation of the Hungarian and Transylvanian Jews by the Nazis started only in August 1944 - Auschwitz and all other functioned at full power despite the fact that it was only 9 months till the Nazi defeat.
