Marilyn...

It's most probably not a breakthrough, but perhaps a useful hint: Please check my posting on "Good News from the Region State Archives of Odessa"

http://hauster.blogspot.de/2015/06/good-news-from-region-state-archives-of.html

and scroll down to the Ghetto Prisoners Database. Among more than 5,000 entries for deportees to Transnistria you'll discover about a dozen entries for "Goldenberg" including three for "Berta Goldenberg". At the time of the registration, Berta Goldenberg, listed as deportee from Czernowitz, was apparently in Ladyzhyn, most probably in the Stone Quarry on the Bug River. She apparently received three payments from Isac Leibovici and Ceclia Schneider from Bucharest. Of course, there is a long way to go, but who knows...!?

Warmest wishes and success for your research!

Edgar Hauster
