I will throw my few cents into this debate by saying that Stenzlers
were relatives of the Weisingers of Pohorlauti. The Weisingers had
extensive landholdings in Pohorlauti near Zastawna.

>> The Scharfstein clan has a strong presence in Uscie Biscupie in Galicia a few kilometers from Bucovina. Moyses Scharfstein owns house #3 in the heart of the market square in 1820. He may be the founder of that particular branch of the family and was probably born in circa 1760. By 1830 a few Scharfsteins are named for him. Some of the descendants are "szenkers", involved in the production and sale of liquor in house #3 by the mid 1800's and possibly earlier and through the rest of the century. We know that Jews moved from Galicia to Bucovina . Moishe is a common name but not Scharfstein. Based on my limited research, I am probably a descended of that family from Uscie Biscupie and some of them migrated to Pohorlouts in Bucovina. I seem to be a descendent of a whole bunch of szenkers but I don't like liquor.
