Czernowitzers,

someone was writing about someone called Demant, unfortunately I have lost
her/his mail.

Composer Hanns Eisler's first wife was singer and musicologist Charlotte
Demant, b. January 01. or 02. 1894 Tarnopol, lived in Czernowitz, before
1912 or 1914 coming to Vienna. Her father Josef Demant, was a
"Gerichtsbeamter" and "Grundbuchsführer" ( don't know these words in
English, maybe someone can translate). She had 8 siblings, a.o. Sabina
Demant, married Fell, b. 08.06.1892 Tarnopol; Minna, Paulina and Carl
Demant.
Erna Wilson, née Fell, musicologist Stanford, living in Palo Alto could be
related.

As always happy to share information and grateful for additional
information,

Primavera
