There is currently great interest among academicians in the social, Cultural and political life
of the Jews in various Central European countries, during the years between the two world wars. Possibly more so in and about Poland and the territories which at the time were part of Poland.
This interest may not be shared by the general populations of these countries and does not reflect any particular attitude on the part of the governments of these countries.
Eastern Ukraine is a stronghold of the far right Svoboda political party.
On the other hand the prime minister of the Ukraine is Jewish.
Lviv is a larger city than Chernivtsi, it has a large university and extensive archival holdings
Which may explain why "Jewish Days" are being held there.
