Dear Members of the List,
I am still looking for information about the daughter or any relatives of
the poet and painter Else Schaechter (Sch=C3=A4chter), married name Keren. =
She
was born in 1924 in Czernowitz, left the Bukowina in 1945 for Roumania, and
1947 managed to get from Bucharest to Paris, where she had relatives. She
lived in Paris until 1950 when she went to Israel, where she settled. She
died in 1995 in Israel.
She married a German-speaking man called Keren who died in Israel long
before 1995. Keren published poems in German and exhibited her artistic
work in Tel Aviv, Israel.
