Dear all,
The original message did not come through due to a missing 'subject' - so I try again. We continued our trip through the multi-ethnic past of Bukovina and Galicia on 17 August. Sylvia, Marla, Jay and I went for an excursion today, which lead us to Zastavna, Balamutivka and Vikno - all north of Chernivtsi (Czernowitz) - as well as to Snyatin in the west. All of those towns and villages - except Vikno - had Jewish cemeteries, but they are not preserved at every place.

Warm wishes from Czernowitz!
