I would recommend you, that you do not limit your search on Bukovina, because the Schmatniks moved further to Austria - e.g. Mortko (Mordechai), born in Sadagora as son of Joel and Schlima (nee Apfel) went to St. Poelten (
http://www.juden-in-st-poelten.at/deutsch/personen/namensverzeichnis/index.php?article_id=20&clang=0&ra=S&pe=302&oh=0&pp=16&an=Schmatnik%20Mortko) . Other family members during WW I to Vienna.
