Hi Hedwig! This memorial was for the Czernowitz-based 41st Infanterie Regiment. I was told it stayed till Khrushchev came for a visit and told the city to get rid of it! Cornel.

Thanks for the picture,
I remember the column, with the bird on the top, it was there until 1920,
21....,I went with my mother every day to the pharmacy on the corner
Rathausstrasse/Kurzr Gasse, where my uncle worked in the pharmacy, called
The gardian Angel, opposite to these memorial.....and behind the monument
was a shop, Zimmermann, with colours for wall painting and a shop
Hildebrand with metal/things
I am still taking antibiotica against my virus( mat he was coming with an
electronic mail, wyo knows) and did not answer to many congratulations.
