I've researched the Odessa Region State Archives in 2015 and reported on my finds under the headline "Good News from the States Archives of Odessa" on June 28, 2015:
http://hauster.blogspot.de/2015/06/good-news-from-region-state-archives-of.html
Among those 5,023 entries listed in the GHETTO PRISONERS DATABASE, partially released at the posting above, you are going to discover Berthold Schmatnik from Czernowitz, who has been deported to Hrabivti (Moghilev Region). Since these entries cover not more than 1/5 to 1/4 of the entire database, it's not unlikely that Ettel Blei Schmatnick was listed there too. Were Berthold and Ettel related?
I'm positive that the archival funds mentioned by Yad Vashem are similar to those researched by me in 2015.

Subject: [Cz-L] Odessa Oblast Archives
Greetings!
I'm researching my grandmother, Ettel Blei Schmatnick.
She was a hairdresser, born in Sadagora in 1902, and lived in
Czernowitz until around 1942, when she moved to Haifa, then the U.S.
She talked to me constantly for years about her life, but few details.
Mostly stories on details of prewar life in Czernowitz, where she was
very happy, or about Sadagora, where she experienced pogroms and was
happy, but very poor, scrapping around, picking up coal on the tracks
with her siblings.
I'm finding records of her in various databases, and now I'm looking
at one specific record group from Yad Vashem, called the Odessa Oblast
Archives.
The records I've found seems to prove that she did live in
Transnistria for a time, as the collection is lists of files from the
central administration of Transnistria (Ukraine) dealing with the
local Jews and with the Jews deported from Bessarabia, Bukovina and
Transnistria, and their fate in the ghettos between the Dniestr and
the Bug.
This is a real find for me, as I had no idea if she was in the
Czernowitz ghetto or Transnistria.
I've looked through the US Holocaust Museum document which explains
the lists - but it is hard to discern if I have the right list by
using the file number, as I should.
If I look at the last four characters of the file number here are the
three lists I get - could I be right?
