Hi Mimi,
You can try contacting them through their website at:
http://esjf-cemeteries.org/contacts/ (This is the link to Contact us).
Further to Edgar's email I filled a contact request today regarding our
project http://www.eylonconsulting.com/bukovina/ but didn't hear back yet.

Thanks, Baruch

Subject: Re: [Cz-L] The ESJF European Jewish Cemeteries Initiative

Thank you Edgar for writing to tell us of the work and objectives of ESJF.
I knew that some such work was being planned by a German organization, but
did not know the most pertinent details.

In April 2016 when Sasha Wolloch and I visited Chernivtsi, Rabbi
Glissenstain told us about this initiative and gave us the name of the
organizations' representative in the Ukraine.
Sasha subsequently phoned this representative, but she was not willing to
discuss the plans regarding the Czernowitz/Chernivtsi Jewish cemetery.
The Czernowitz Jewish cemetery does have an intact fence around it and does
not require a new one.
The gates might need to be reinforced.
The cemetery is under the administration of the Chernivtsi city government
and is registered as a Ukrainian National Heritage site.
I have also registered it with the US Administration for the Preservation of
American's heritage abroad.
Therefore, I consider it more urgent that rampant invasive vegetation not be
allowed to destroy the tombstones, than to ensure that the cemetery not be
taken over for other purposes.

In case some of you are not aware of the fact; "CJCRO" (Czernowitz Jewish
Cemetery Restoration Organization) was founded in 2009 and includes many
members of the Cz.-List. (New members will be accepted gladly).
Since its founding, CJCRO has hired local workmen to cut down and eradicate
with herbicides most of the rampant and invasive vegetation which previously
made the cemetery totally impassible.
CJCRO also successfully engaged two NGO organizations; "SVIT Ukraine"
and "ASF Germany",
who each year for the last seven years have sent groups of volunteers to do
similar work at the cemetery.
Currently the cemetery is mostly, but not completely, cleared of invasive
trees and bushes.
Annual weeds and some vines need to be cleared every year and I do not
expect 2017 to be an exception.

If any of you could let me know how I could contact ESJF in order to tell
them about are concerns regarding the Chernivtsi Jewish cemetery, I would be
most grateful,

Thanks in advance and even if belatedly Happy 2017!

            Mimi
