Czernowitzers...
Last Monday our good friends Marla Raucher Osborn and Jay Osborn announced as follows:
"Jay and I are pleased to announce some end-of-the-year good news: Rohatyn Jewish Heritage is now a registered nonprofit NGO in Ukraine! We are excited that with this official step, organizations and groups inside and outside Ukraine will collaborate with Rohatyn Jewish Heritage on projects of education, dialogue, and memory. We are in the process of exploring ideas for re-discovering the multi-cultural prewar history of Rohatyn, developing spaces of remembrance of communities no longer present, including the Jewish community, and of course continuing our work on recovering Jewish headstones, now in its sixth year. Happy New Year!

[...] Warm regards and best wishes for the New Year!"
I strongly believe this initiative will be exemplary for other areas too, such as f. i. Bukovina. A registered nonprofit NGO in Ukraine, above all benefiting from tax deductibility, becomes a serious partner for international donors and project partners, such as f. i. "The ESJF European Jewish Cemeteries Initiative":

Marla and Jay set a good example for (Jewish) Bukovina too!
