Czernowitzers...

The so-called "Repatriation of the Bukovinian Jews", de facto nothing else
but a forced displacement, took place after WWII in the years 1944-1946. But
what happened to those Jews, who survived the Holocaust but were stranded in
Romania? Many of them became "Jews for Sale". For those, who speak/read
Romanian or Hebrew, learn more from Radu Garbea's documentary "Jews for
Sale", now - uncut and at full length - at our Ehpes Blog:

http://ehpes.com/blog1/?p=9913

Among those Jews were my paternal grandparents too, Marjem and Elias
Hauster. 10,673 repatriates, mainly Jews from Northern Bukovina, who crossed
the USSR/Romanian border at Siret in March/April 1946, i. e. those Jews who
survived Transnistria and the Holocaust, are listed here:

http://radauti.blogspot.de/2009/12/repatriates-at-ussrromanian-border.html

Dr. Chaim Gelber (Tel Aviv) published the article "The repatriation of the
Bukovinian Jews in the years (1944-1946)" in Hugo Gold's "History of the
Jews in the Bukowina":

http://www.jewishgen.org/Yizkor/Bukowinabook/buk2_079.html

Enjoy the film! Thanks go to Eliezer Schaffer from Haifa, who drew my
attention to Radu Garbea's documentary.
