The correct subject reads "Rescue Operation by Cornel Dumitrescu, the former Director of Tricotania, Czernowitz?", not "Trinaco". Sorry for confusion!

Subject: [Cz-L] Rescue Operation by Cornel Dumitrescu, the former Director of Trinaco, Czernowitz?
Czernowitzers...
In 2009 the quite reputable Romanian monthly magazine Historia reported [in Romanian language] on a "Rescue Operation by Cornel Dumitrescu, the former Director of Trinaco, Czernowitz" in favor of up to 3,600 Jews from Czernowitz:
http://www.historia.ro/exclusiv_web/general/articol/un-roman-salvat-3600-evrei-holocaust
It is interesting that fellow List member Marcel Spiegler wrote to us as early as October 2007:
"TO THE BEST OF MY RECOLECTION THERE WERE 3 MAJOR KNITTING FACTORIES IN CZERNOWITZ, TRICOTANIA,TRINACO AND HERCULES. TRICOTANIA WAS LOCATED NORD EAST FROM THE CENTER OF THE CITY. CORNEL DUMITRESCU WAS THE MANAGER OF TRICOTANIA DURING THE WAR YEARS. HE IS COMPARED TO SCHINDLER. HE SAVED HUNDREDS OF JEWS WITH THEIR FAMILY FROM DEPORTATION BY GIVEN THEM EMPLOIMENT IN THE FACTORY."
Romania Wikipedia lists the same references:

Is anybody out there, who has knowledge / evidence / recollection on Cornel Dumitrescu's actions in Czernowitz during WW2?
