Czernowitzers...

Czernowitz is anything but out of mind as illustrated by the huge media coverage over the last few days. Come and join me to the movies, let's watch TV and listen to the radio:

1. For the historical context let's watch the brand new documentary "The King's War", now available - in ENGLISH - at our Ehpes Blog:
http://ehpes.com/blog1/?p=10038

2. Then let's join Ioan Holender, the Austrian opera baritone and administrator and advisor of the Metropolitan Opera New York, for his cultural trip - in GERMAN - to Czernowitz:

3. Now it's time to watch an ARTE documentary - in GERMAN and/or FRENCH - and to follow the Pruth River from its fountainhead in the Carpathian Mountains in Ukarine via Czernowitz to its outfall into the Danube River in Romania:

4. Last but not least, after so many visual impressions, let's relax by listening a radio broadcast - in GERMAN - on perhaps the most famous Czernowitzer, Paul Celan, on DLF:

It's not that personally I hadn't several points of criticism towards the above mentioned screening / broadcastings, but all in all it's a comprehensive, attractive and up-to-date "Tour d'Horizon" on Czernowitz. Enjoy it!

P.S.: Thank you, dear Eliezer, dear Gabriele, for drawing my attention to the broadcastings 1. and 2.!
