Dear members,
I am hoping that perhaps your group can help.
Rohatyn Jewish Heritage is seeking the 1910 Imperial Austrian census
for Galicia, with populations by town. Specifically, we are looking
for Rohatyn and the towns and villages in the Rohatyn district,
Stanislawow province, of the Kingdom of Galicia. We have the prior
census records (1869, 1880, 1890, 1900), and are working on a project
to compare population changes and ethnic/religious variation across
time in Rohatyn and in the neighboring villages.
If the census was produced like censuses in the previous decades, the
book would be many hundred pages long and would be called something
like: "Gemeindelexikon der im Reichsrate vertretenen Königreiche und
Länder : bearbeitet auf Grund der Ergebnisse der Volkszählung vom 31.
Dezember 1910"
The 1910 census would have been completed 7 years later in 1917, but
due to war did not print until 1919. Not all volumes for all towns
were printed however, and Rohatyn (and Galicia) appears to be amongst
that unpublished group. However, even if never printed, we are hoping
the data is still in some archive.
Twelve years ago, a friend found and copied the year 1910 pages
covering his Galician town of Tovste at the Austrian state statistics
office:

Can anyone please help? If so, please email me at marla.r.osborb_at_gmail.com
Thanks for ideas and help and best regards from Lviv, the heart of Galciia,
Marla Raucher Osborn
