Hardy will surely be remembered as an outstanding wit and contributor. His messages can be readily reviewed in our List archives. My sincere condolences go to his family and friends.

With a heavy heart I read about the passing of our friend, Hardy.  I met him and his wife in Haifa, at Hedwig Brenner's apartment nearly seven years ago.   Oi Vay!  How I miss and will continue to mourn the passing of those two pillars of our CZ group!  .  In November 2010 while in Israel, I called Hedwig Brenner from Jerusalem.  I was calling to say "hello" but she insisted that I come for tea that very day.  It was evening by the time I arrived, Hedwig opened the door before I rang the door bell.    I soon found out that our tea party guests included the one and only Hardy Briar and his loving wife, Rachel.  What a treat!
The four of us spent several delightful hours in conversation and reflection.  We took photos of one another to record this memorable occasion.
Ofer, May you be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
