Sally, thanks so much for posting this - glad that Samuel del Campo is
being recognized and also interesting for me to read both news releases
about his role in Romania during the war. My mother was able to obtain one
of those passports or papers, but it didn't help get us exempted. I have
the ID photo with the seal of the Delegaci=C3=B3n de Chile that was once af=
fixed
to such a paper- and some years back I tried to find out more about the
history of this document. I believe I told you about this before. I called
and wrote to the Chilean consulate in D.C. but they claimed that they never
heard of such a thing. They suggested that I write to the Jewish Community
Center in Santiago - which I did en espa=C3=B1ol - but never received a
reply...so this helps resolve the mystery!
