Your mom was truly such a special lady. So sorry for your loss, and at the same time I’m glad to know that list discussions brought a knowing smile to her face.

At 99 years old, my mother was still astute and engaged. She was enormously
nostalgic about the Bukovina, and she was delighted whenever I printed out
the list posts and brought them to her, discussing long-remembered names,
landmarks, and recipes.
I will miss her terribly, but am grateful that I have roots in this special
Czernowitz, which binds us all together.
