Czernowitzers...

Carol Elias, the editor of BUKOLINK, the newsletter released by the World Organization of Bukovina Jews and Descendants, wrote:

"Organized by the head of the 'Transnistria Survivor's Association', Mr. Dan Marian, led by President and Chairman of 'The World Organization of Bukovina Jews and Descendants', Mr. Yochanan Ron Singer, a group of close to 50, 1st, 2nd and 3rd generations of Holocaust survivors, set out on a journey into the past through Bukovina, Transnistria, Ukraine and Romania, to remember, or to see and feel for themselves what they, or their parents and grandparents had gone through for over 3 years, beginning exactly 76 years ago."

Carol's generously illustrated travel report is now available - for free download - at our Ehpes Blog:

After the Holocaust and the Soviet period, who would have imagined that a "March of Life" took place on the streets of Czernowitz in 2017, group members and locals waving Israeli and Ukrainian flags?

Additionally Carlol Elias let us know that "the decision was made to discontinue The Bukolink in English for an undetermined period". From my point of view it's a pity and I took the opportunity to update the 2017 BUKOLINK site on Ehpes by adding the missing latest editions for May and June 2017.

Please keep in mind, BUKOLINK ist as always available for download at our Ehpes Blog:

2017 To be a Bukovinian (6 issues / Jan-Jun 2017): http://ehpes.com/blog1/?p=9949
2016 To ba a Bukovinian (4 issues / Jan-Apr 2016): http://ehpes.com/blog1/?p=9728

Carol, thank you for sharing your travel report with all of us as well as for your dedication to having released BUKOLINK over the last two years!
