Dear Jerome,
Thank you for your message and, yes, you are completely right, this film is a gem! The confrontation of Czernowitz in the year 1999 with Jewish Czernowitzers on site AND from Israel, accentuated by historical footage never displayed before and accompanied by Steinbarg's fables and wonderful Yiddish music, brought to us by Ruth Levin and others, makes the difference:

Berti stated as follows: "Somehow I did not see this one before. I have known and talked to most of the people who appear in the documentary. Thank you and Eliezer Schaffer for reminding us."
I strongly recommend to all our List members to watch this 31:14 highly professional and atmospheric film, since it contrasts pleasently with many more recent films.
