Excuse the late reply to your inquiry, I think that one of my
father's schoolmates in Czernowitz
was named Morgenstern. If I am right, this man would have been born
around 1907
and he was not deported to Transnistria during the war. If I remember
correctly, he was a great joker
and frequently wrote what my parents called funny "Feuilleton"s.
I have a number of group photographs of my father's classmates in
Liceu #3 and I could send you those,
if you think that you would recognize the Morgenstern you are looking
for.
Generally speaking; in the Czernowitz Address book of 1936 there are
listed more than 30 families
by the name of Morgenstern. You can find the address books on our
EHPES website.
