Hello Shaul Morgenstern,

The family of my grandfather, Emil Raymond GOLDENBERG, was from
Czernowitz. Some of them lived in Dorna Vatra (now Vatra Dornei), and
there were some relatives in Bacau. When my grandfather first came to the
U.S., in the early 1900's, he belonged to the Radautz Landsmanschaft, so
there may have been Goldenberg relatives in Radautz, also.

My grandfather's mother's maiden name was RUDMAN. He told me that she had
a large number of siblings, so some of the relatives may have been on her
side.

Some of the Czernowitz and Dorna Vatra Goldenberg relatives were in
Moghilev, Transnistria. At least two of them, Berta Goldenberg and her
sister, Sali Goldenberg SCHWARZ (possibly later had the last name POLLAK),
migrated to the Haifa area in around 1950. I have been looking for their
descendants for several years, unfortunately without success.

If you are interested, please look at the album I posted (with the
invaluable help of Jerome Schatten) on the ehpes website:

http://czernowitz.ehpes.com/bio/goldenberg/

You might also try looking at the Goldenberg listings on JewishGen.org
(under "Family Finder").

Someone may suggest to you that you get in touch with Sorin Goldenberg, a
family/genealogical searcher in Israel. He is very kind and helpful, but
his family was not originally named Goldenberg - I have corresponded with
him - so he is unlikely to be a close genetic relative.

I wish you good luck in your search, and I would be interested in anything
that you find.

Marilyn G. (Goldenberg), Gelber, Ph.D.
