Dear Edgar,

This is really a well-written piece summarizing Prof. Barasch’s major milestones and accomplishments. It so good to have access to this “for the record” and to further sustain our interest in the continuing heritage of Bukovina Jewish history. Thank you so much for bringing this piece to our Ehpes blog!

    Czernowitzers...

Today I have the privilege to re-publish Prof. Ziva Amishai-Maisels' article "In Memoriam Moshe Barasch (1920-2004)" published by Ars Judaica as early as 2005:

    Ehpes Blog: http://ehpes.com/blog1/?p=10318

In this context Prof. Ziva Amishai-Maisels wrote to me: "I was a student of Barasch, who changed my life and nurtured my career, and was the first of his doctorate candidates to graduate (1970)."

Thank you so much indeed, dear Ziva, and we are looking very much forward to reading more on "our" so prominent Czernowitzer Moshe Barasch!
