Czernowitzers...

The use of Force and Slave Labor in Nazi-Dominated Europe during World War II took place on an unprecedented scale. Let us take a closer look to this phenomenon by focusing on two TRANSNISTRIA related contributions to the Symposium "Force and Slave Labor in Nazi-Dominated Europe", hosted by the USHMM in 2004:

WILLIAM ROSENZWEIG was raised in CZERNOWITZ, Bukovina, which was then part of Romania. At the outbreak of the Second World War, he was incarcerated in the ghetto of Czernowitz prior to deportation to the Bershad ghetto in Transnistria.
