Czernowitzers...
Let me draw your attention on a new book published (in German language) by Diogenes in Zurich: Lukas Hartmann • Der Sänger • Diogenes, Zurich • 288 p • 01-May-2019
Lukas Hartmann accompanies the Jewish tenor Joseph Schmidt [from Czernowitz] on the run from the Nazi to Switzerland in 1942. "He narrates in a soft melancholic tone on a great life" as we learn from the NZZ book review available now at our Ehpes Blog:
http://ehpes.com/blog1/?p=10792
See also the book review of the German "Jüdische Allgemeine":

Enjoy the reading!
