welcome to the list!
To answer your question ‚quick and dirty‘: Austrians are and were never Prussians and so everything has do be seen a bit different ;) ‚recte‘ means ‚real‘ and related to Eastern European Jewry it ordinary means that the parents married in a chassidic synagogue which not belonged to the IKG (Israelitische Kultusgemeinde - untranslateable, the ‚original‘ and officially accepted jewish community). Since a chassidic marriage was not accepted, the Kids had offically the Surname of the mother, but used fathers name in ‚real live‘. In marriage and death certificates this is marked with ‚recte‘.
The difference between siblings depends onto the legal understanding of the Writer of the IKG - one was more pro Chassidism and the next one not... like started: Austrians...
