Dear Edgar, Berti, Ruth, Shula, Fred, Maurice, and others who have written to me directly,
Thank you all for your very kind words. I will definitely be remaining part of the Czernowitz listserv and feeling connected to my father’s heritage through your collective memories, and I hope to pass them along to my children as well. This is a wonderful community and support.
Thanks from my whole family,
Lisa

Dearest Lisa,

Yes, so extremely sad, please accept my deepest condolences for your family's loss. I remember that you conveyed to us Frederick's encouraging note from 2016:

"I was delighted to find the Czernowitz advertisements in the Yellow Pages,
https://bit.ly/2Y0E8aF - https://bit.ly/2WT0QA0
many of them well known. I was particularly touched by the ad of Fabrica Soare, my father's (Adolf Andermann) cutlery factory which has survived only in this document. Thank you for stimulating our memory of the Czernowitz which disappeared in the 1940's. Friedl"

You stated, dear Lisa, "it is the end of an era"; so true, but as long as there are devoted List members like you willing to carry on our collective memory, there is an inherent fresh start too.

Edgar Hauster
