Two illustrative notes:
There are three movies related to my previous notes - for you and those members who may be unaware of them:
One - a historic dramatization of the activities of the Bielsky brothers - Defiance (2008). and also a documentary The Bielsky Brothers (1994) telling the story by survivors
A thurd - the The Rebbe and Hitler's soldier - a dramatized documentary telling the story of the rescue of the sixth generation descendant of the Rabbi from Lyady by a half-Jewish subordinate of Canaris, who was ordered by Canaris (at a request by Pres. Roosevelt prior to Pearl Harbour) to extract Rabbi Joseph Isaak Shneurson (also written Shneerson) and his family and some followers from Nazi occupied Poland. Belarus and Latvia. He was brought to the US where he established the worldwide center of the Habbad (Lubawitxher) mpvement. The story is also recorded in a book by Bryan Mark Rigg - The Rabbi saved by Hitler's soldiers
