Hi all. First post here.
I am trying to help someone get more information about family from Bukovina.
Documents for her great-grandmother suggest she was born in
Mihowa/Myhove, circa 1885. That great-grandmother's children appear to
have been born in Okna/Vikno around the turn of the last century.
It's unclear to me what, if any records from these towns exist and
whether they would have been registered in Czernowitz. I am not
finding anything for them on the geneasearch site's index to the
FamilySearch records and am unsure what my next step is.
I have reached out to a researcher in Czernowitz who was recommended
to me, but I just wanted to make sure I had covered all my bases for
what I could do on my own and that I better understood what's out
there.
I am also interested for my own research in locating a 1934 death
certificate from Storozhynets, and possibly a circa 1910 marriage
record.
Any guidance would be appreciated.
