Hi everyone,
My Great-Uncle Abraham Schmatnic (or Engler) appears on several lists with
a wartime address of Strasse Dionisie Bejan, Nr. 10. The name of the
street later became Pardinigasse and now Klara Zetkin Street.
I'm curious why so many people either in my family or closely related all
were located at this address in 1942, where Abraham lived. They included a
Landwehr (Abraham's sister Jenny was married to a Landwehr), his sister
Lotti, and his sister Rebecca with her husband Moritz Zimbler and Moritz'
mother Rosa. There were also several unrelated people, Hers Hainer, Hers
Boral, and Emanuel Halpern.
*Could this have been a situation where multiple families lived together
near the Ghetto?*
In this map of the Ghetto, Str. Dionisie Bejan looks to be very close to
the Ghetto
